You might have have seen it around your net search also.
The pattern was here. But unfortunately for me is in russian, and I don't speak the language. So I kept looking at it and hoping that someone will translate it someday. Here and here you can find some videos in German that have a similar pattern.
And finally I had the marvelous idea to ask my good friend, E. if she knows any way to translate it properly cause google translate didn't help me too much :)
And SHE DID. SHE'S the BEST !!! :)
And she was so nice to share it with all of us .
So, let's give her a big applause for this :D
Here is the pattern in English:
You have to cast on a multiple of 21 stitches, plus 3 stitches
For 3 scallops (shells) on a row: cast on 66 stitches (21*3 + 3)
For 2 scallops on a row: cast on 45 stitches (21*2 + 3)
row 1 - knit
row 2 - purl
row 3 - knit
row 4 - knit 1, *yarn over, knit 21*, knit 2
row 5 - purl 2, *(purl 1,knit 3) - 5 times, purl 2*, purl 1

row 10 - knit 1, *(knit 1, yarn over) - 4 times, (Slip, slip, knit the 2 slipped stitches together, purl 1) - 5 times, (knit 1, yarn over) - 4 times*, knit 2
row 11 - purl 2, *purl 8, (knit 1, purl 1) - 5 times, purl 8*, purl 1
row 12 - knit 1, *knit 8, (Slip, slip, knit the 2 slipped stitches together) - 5 times, knit 8 *, knit 2
row 13 - purl 2, *purl 8, (purl 4, transfer them to a third needle, wrap the yarn around them 3 times counterclockwise, transfer them to the right needle again), purl 9*, purl 1
row 14 - knit
Repeat rows 1 – 14
Next is a picture with what I did following these steps:
Have fun making this and show me what you did :)
What is the pattern after the five rows of the scallops?
ReplyDeleteHi, Kim, the rest of the pink pattern wasn't written in the original Russian post that we looked at but as far as I see I think it goes with knit and purl rows with a few yarn over that seem to follow that "tree" below and after a few rows (probably 12 ) makes the row 13 again.
